I was a moneylender in Kilkenny and had a very healthy business as well as four husbands. It was a time of great rebellion against church authority and Richard Ledrede, an English monk, was sent to become the Bishop of Ossory and quell any dissension. One of his actions was to accuse myself and my followers of witchcraft. Convictions were secured against myself, my son, my husband William Outlaw and ten of my followers. I escaped to Scotland but my maid, Petronella, was burned at the stake.
