Notice of Extension of Closing date for Submissions

The National Planning Framework will set out the Government's response to national challenges of accommodating around 1 million extra people and more than 500,000 additional people at work.

Kilkenny County Council intends to make a submission to the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government in connection with the preparation of the NPF, and also wants to encourage the public to make submissions.

The plan will shape the future of Kilkenny by 2040 and will also deal with administrative issues and between county and regional boundaries. This is the new National Planning Framework and it is vital for Kilkenny that the public takes part and makes submissions to ensure that the issues for Kilkenny are addressed in the plan.

The original closing date for submissions of the 16th March has now been extended to the 31st March. If you intend making a submission after the 16th March, you are requested to email npf@housing.gov.ie on or before the 16th March indicating that you intend to make a submission after the 16th March and before the new closing date for receipt of submissions of 12 noon on Friday 31st March.

Invitation to Public Consultation Meeting Wednesday 8th March 7:30 pm. Ormonde Hotel, Kilkenny

You are invited to a public consultation about the National Planning Framework.

This is the new National Planning Framework and it is vital for Kilkenny that the public takes part and makes submissions to ensure that the issues for Kilkenny are addressed in the plan.
The plan will shape the future of Kilkenny by 2040 and will also deal with administrative issues and between county and regional boundaries.

Kilkenny County Council will make a submission to the Department of Housing Planning Community and Local Government in connection with the preparation of the new National Planning Framework(NPF).

The NPF will set out the Government's response to national - challenges of accommodating around 1 million extra people and more than 500,000 additional people at work.

To assist in the preparation of the Council's submission to the NPF, a public consultation meeting will be held in the Ormond Hotel, Kilkenny on Wednesday 8th March, 2017 at 7.30p.m. There will be a local expert panel to give their views of what Kilkenny should look like in 2040 and the meeting will be hosted by Mr. John Purcell of KCLR.

You are encouraged to take part in this consultation process which will be an important step in making the views of Kilkenny people heard in the NPF.
